During the sale of our house, we realized we had to replace a portion of the sewer pipe under our front yard. We contacted 2 "industry experts" but their quotes seemed high and excessive in scope. While looking for a 3rd quote, we were referred to Above and Below Exteriors. Not only was the price much better than the first two, we really appreciated the time Mike took to explain the work to be done. Mike was also extremely accommodating and patient in answering our questions. This was very comforting to us at such a busy and stressful time. The work Above and Below Exteriors did for us was quick, very well done and, most importantly, clean. We thought the yard would be a complete mess but when they were done, we could hardly tell the yard had just been excavated. All they had to do was power wash the driveway the next day. I told them that I would be happy to wash the driveway myself but Mike insisted on coming back the next day to wash it himself. "Mike from Above and Below Exteriors responded to a call when I needed to waterproof one side of my foundation after I noticed some moisture in my basement carpet.
Mike noticed a crack in the foundation that was the potential cause of moisture, and took a look around the property to make sure other cracks did not exist. He also suggested window wells for two basement windows that were too close to ground level. Both the suggestions were well thought out and fixed the issue in the basement.
Mike's quote was very reasonable and thorough, with line item descriptions for all work to be done, and costs clearly shown for each item.
Leading up to the day of work, Daisy kept me up to date with emails to set up the schedule. Mike and his crew arrived right on time on the day of work, and pretty much pulled a 12 hour day to make sure work got completed when the weather was cooperating.
Mike was extremely helpful in explaining every step of the work being done, answering all my questions. They used up-to-date materials, making sure all work done met or exceeded code required for waterproofing the foundation. All the members of the crew kept the work site clean and tidy, and were careful not to disturb any of the existing fixtures in the backyard and around the house. After the work was complete (took 2 days exactly as per the estimate), Mike cleaned up the site, probably better than it was before he started.
At payment time, Mike went over all the work done line-by-line, and in the case where one of the items in the estimate was not required, he removed it from the cost. I fully appreciated the honesty and clarity when it came to payment time as there were no surprises at the end.

When we have decided to tackle the front steps and walkway project we contacted about six different contractors from small private contractors to big business companies. Above and Below was recommended to us by a colleague at work when we had some water infiltration in our basement. When contacted he immediately came over to see what was happening and provided his expertise. One year later, we decided to go ahead and have the work done. We got a quote from Above and Below and one other. We went with Above and Below for the following reasons:
